13. We have rabbits and deer...

Believe it or not our rabbits are very well behaved. They leave our crops alone. My dog is a small 20 pound havanese …a couple of the rabbits are very close in size to him, plus they get along with each other. They don’t view him as a threat and Roscoe loves the little power pellets they leave for him. He thinks they’re treats.
I spoil our rabbits though…I’ve built hutches out of downed branches for them in the field behind us giving them a safer place for a burrow. Plus they get the winter veggie scraps that usually go into the compost.

The rabbits actually keep the cats out of the yard they can get territorial. Last winter the rabbits pooped so much it looked like a hundred pound bag of dog kibble was scattered under one of the cedar trees…deer were seen snacking on that. Winters are interesting in our yard.
