since it's Mr. Retrograde's birthday. It's sort of a leftovers cake - I pureed some elderly pears and threw in some chopped candied ginger to my go-to NYT lemon pound cake recipe. So far, it smells good.

The rest of dinner: pork chops, scalloped potatoes, and braised cabbage.
