In 2011-12, I took a six-month course of drugs to try to knock out Hep C. I took Incivek, Interferon, and one other drug whose name I've forgotten. I don't have any need to discuss side effects. Suffice to say that, based on the experiences of family and friends, what I experienced was luxurious compared to chemo and other drastic, toxic methods of knocking out diseases.

I am lucky. The treatment worked. I am deeply grateful to my doctor, Lornette Mills (Waldorf, Maryland), and the scientists who developed the therapy.
