as 'religious freedom'. But - regardless of where the skewed (or extreme?) belief originates - how about the rights of a child .. ?

Firmly believe that there must be some kind of normative standards - when it comes to rights of a child or children ... At some point 'my child' absolutely does not (nor ever should) bear equivalence with 'my chattel'.

( And of course fully realize that this discussion can veer off in a thousand different directions .... Sports dads training up the next 'big league prospect'? Beauty pageant moms, tiger moms ... ? Home schoolers? Amish, and other 'separatist' cultures? Then of course you have the flip side - where the state is removing aboriginal children to effect 'acculturation'. I.e. 'white', 'Christian', ___ fill in the blank. Nevertheless .... A child has a 'right' (at some point?) - not to be treated like a personal project - or a lab experiment. Regardless the entity sitting as lab manager - or bio 'parent'.)
