The wolves are thinking, "That's a good place to hunt when conditions are like this."

The ravens are thinking, "That's a likely place for the wolves to hunt when conditions are like this."

Both species are capable of some theory of mind, able to surmise what another individual is thinking, so there may be a common understanding of the hunt between them.

The wolves are thinking, "The ravens recall this as a good place to hunt."

The ravens are thinking, "The wolves recall this a good place to hunt."

Not to say they are using words to think.

For too long it was the fashion to reject any attribution of human thoughts and emotions to animals, calling it projection which in truth it sometimes was. But mostly it was a denial that we humans too are animals.
