(31,305 posts)which is why Buddhism is a good fit for me. They don't believe in a personal God that sits in judgment and assigns one to the left or right side. Life is lived with causes and conditions for any outcome, skillful or not.
But I'm haunted by the fact that I feel like I hastened my dog's death by taking her to the wrong vet who wouldn't listen to me. I might have been able to save her life doing something different, but I did what I did and now she is dead. I don't believe that she will ever visit me again, she is off to her new life now and is "running with the big dogs." I do pray (to what or whom, I don't know) that she has a fortunate life.
May your grief be bearable, my sweet friend and your puppers next life be as fortunate as this one was.
