You might check with your local city/county animal control to see if they loan live traps. Ours loans no harm cage traps. You can trap a cat and take it back in the cage, and the animal control clinic will neuter and give it a rabies shot for about $40-50. The only thing I have to do is take the cat home and release it after a couple of days, and return the trap/cage for my deposit ($100). I've now got a spoiled, spayed outdoor cat hanging around that I feed, but she is tame enough to pet, and loves to see me. The spayed ones usually don't attract other cats, but should they, they chase them away.
