These babies showed up in my backyard Wednesday.
I've never been able to catch Momma to get her fixed, she's too wily.

Here she is with her best "I made these" pose.

(114,647 posts)and big pet stores can occasionally rent Hav-A-Heart traps. Put her babies inside along with some stinky tuna cat food and a bowl of water , towel over the top, and chances are she' go inside.
Or she'll think they're old enough to cope and go off to gestate her next litter while the kittens chow down on the tuna and drink the water. It's worth a try, anyway.

(500 posts)You might check with your local city/county animal control to see if they loan live traps. Ours loans no harm cage traps. You can trap a cat and take it back in the cage, and the animal control clinic will neuter and give it a rabies shot for about $40-50. The only thing I have to do is take the cat home and release it after a couple of days, and return the trap/cage for my deposit ($100). I've now got a spoiled, spayed outdoor cat hanging around that I feed, but she is tame enough to pet, and loves to see me. The spayed ones usually don't attract other cats, but should they, they chase them away.
