A bit of connecting trivia: The bass player in the 5 Stairsteps (the third singer in your videos) is also playing bass on that Sly Stone tune I posted.

His name is Keni Burke, and he went on to become a session player and producer. After the 5 Stairsteps, he played with Billy Preston, Mavis Staples, Gladys Knight, Bill Withers, Curtis Mayfield, and on and on.
