Grand coincidences in the pop culture firmament? [View all]

I find them fascinating. You know, random meetings or reunions that changed the course of things. Actors, athletes, musicians, etc that grew up in close proximity, went to same high school, etc?

Some of you all might find my offering on the weak side, but it amazes me nonetheless: Chuck Berry and Miles Davis grew up roughly 18 miles apart in the St Louis area and were born within 5 months of each other. Quite possibly the two most important American musicians of the 20th century. I mean, what would jazz and rock and roll be without them? Probably shaped by same radio stations and music they heard there.

Anyhow, I love learning and ruminating on them, so share your faves if you have any, even if well known.
