Both, particularly the later, led to the 2008 crash. No one went to jail for perpetuating perhaps the greatest financial fraud in American history except one poor sap, Kareem Serageldin. The ACA originally had a public option. That got ditched as much due to milquetoast centrist Dems as Republicans. The final product was better than nothing, but it in no way addressed the structural problems in our healthcare system that have only gotten worse. By the way, Obama didn't run as a centrist. He ran to the left in 2008 with a message that resonated with Americans. That's how he won in places Dems haven't won since 2008. Since then, we've run on "Trump is a horrible person" and little else. No shit. What else have we got? A lot, but we don't advertise it much. Why is that? Afraid of being called "Commies" perhaps?
