About 60% of petroleum used here is domestic.
Canada & Mexico (especially the former) is the largest supplier of imports. That's almost all pipeline.
A decent amount from Venezuela, too. The delays at Hormuz are irrelevant to that.
We Fer dribs & draws of North Sea oil from England & Holland; again not impacted by the Iran situation, so those boars have been sailing for quite a while now.
Only around 8% of demand comes from middle east, none from Iran.
Also worth noting is that the US producers export about 2 MM barrels per day, so they could just retain that for domestic use.
17 days is bad, but it's not as bad as it seems at first blush.
