1. They have been doing better than that in special elections. Most pollsters are missing something.

I think they are undercounting independents. Most of them weight by party, but they are undercounting them. According to the latest Gallop poll, they have been growing and make up 45% of the electorate. The Democrats are winning them by double digits. That does not mean they will vote with us in 28.
