Republicans have had this mindset for many decades now - going back to the early 90s.

And, Ds almost always "taken the high road" and N E V E R. Not even once, been given credit for it, and the Rs never are held to account for it.

It is LONG past time for Ds to stop trying to hold itself up to standards that this country no longer has.
