She never does look natural to me, always seems very "curated." Of course I don't see her when she rolls out of bed in the morning or when she's doing housework.

I won't scoff at the idea that she has faced some psychological trauma in her life (if that is what you are suggesting) but many people with deep trauma can express genuine positive emotions, accompanied by appropriate emotional displays such as a smile.
