These products acted as high-octane fuel for the blaze, allowing the fire to spread through the nearly 30-acre facility at an uncontrollable rate. By 1:00 a.m., the heat was so intense that it compromised the building’s structural integrity, leading to a catastrophic roof collapse and forcing firefighters into a defensive “surround and drown” strategy to protect neighboring structures.
