I have not enjoyed reading a book in 14 years. That embittered me above all.

I do not believe you can have democracy without a decent state with police/military etc for their normal useful functions. I feel bad on days like these when I sit comfortably in my home in India which I am finally sure I can rid of malware and think of the 70,000 immigrants languishing in true hells for no fault of their own except being poor and conclude Vincent Palathingal (Jan 6), Ragy Thomas (data mining scammer) or at least all my corrupt and creepy misogynistic local harassers (Blackstone Inc execs, ai bullshitters, gamers, influencers, “hats”…in short limits-to-growth breaking, home invading harassers for 14 years..whoever they are) should be there instead.
