PA-GOV: F&M Poll: Shapiro Leads Garrity For Governor, 48-28% [View all]
Its a long way to November, but it is still good news for Gov. Josh Shapiro as he sets his sights on another term as Pennsylvania governor and beyond.
The latest survey from Franklin & Marshall College shows the incumbent Democrat with a 20-point advantage over Republican hopeful Stacy Garrity, 48-28 percent. Seven percent opted for some other candidate and 17 percent were undecided.
The good news continued for Shapiro as half of respondents (50%) to the survey indicated that he is doing an excellent or good job, compared to 44 percent who feel otherwise. The +6 favorability number did drop five points from F&Ms last survey last October (51-40, +11) but remains above water for the 10th consecutive poll.
If you look at the glass as half-full, more Pennsylvanians feel that the Commonwealth is generally headed in the right direction than four months ago by two points (39-37%). If your glass is half-empty, a plurality of those surveyed feel that the state is on the wrong track (44%).
