Its a long way to November, but it is still good news for Gov. Josh Shapiro as he sets his sights on another term as Pennsylvania governor and beyond.
The latest survey from Franklin & Marshall College shows the incumbent Democrat with a 20-point advantage over Republican hopeful Stacy Garrity, 48-28 percent. Seven percent opted for some other candidate and 17 percent were undecided.
The good news continued for Shapiro as half of respondents (50%) to the survey indicated that he is doing an excellent or good job, compared to 44 percent who feel otherwise. The +6 favorability number did drop five points from F&Ms last survey last October (51-40, +11) but remains above water for the 10th consecutive poll.
If you look at the glass as half-full, more Pennsylvanians feel that the Commonwealth is generally headed in the right direction than four months ago by two points (39-37%). If your glass is half-empty, a plurality of those surveyed feel that the state is on the wrong track (44%).

(17,411 posts)He's making government work for Pennsylvanians. The Rs who control the state senate did throw a hissy fit last year that caused the state budget to be months late being enacted. With primaries coming up in May and general election in Nov, there probably won't be a budget standoff again in July.

(17,411 posts)about where respondents got their news. 53% were from either FoxNews or Newsmax. That tells me the poll respondents were skewed toward conservatives making the results that much more concerning to Rs trying to hold on to their majorities.
