Showing Original Post only (View all)But we can't have a female President, right? [View all]
I just watched Abigail Spanberger's rebuttal to the SOTU from last night. It was too late for me to watch last night. Here's my reaction: She destroyed trump. She made more cogent points in her short response than trump made in almost two hours, by far. She was presidential. She was strong. She spoke up for the American people and spoke truth to power. She was not afraid to call out the administration's corruption. AND she didn't lie.
But for some reason it seems that it is conventional wisdom, even among Dems, that she is not in the running for 2028. No women are. Are we that spooked by 2024 and the Harris campaign?
Look, I get it. 2024 was brutal and playing it safe is extremely tempting. I feel it too. But it's a damn shame.

I'm with you. And WHY is a male candidate playing it safe? We need to get over the hidden misogyny, dammit.
