What is very obvious to many, even if they are afraid to say it out loud, is that Congress is irrelevant.
They can just ignore Congress because it is both toothless and spineless and completely without any power to do anything about anything.

Hell, they can just ignore the election all together . What are people going to do? Stomp their feet? Write a sternly worded letter? That is literally all they can do.
We have allowed unbelievable power to be invested in that executive branch, far beyond the point of no return.
The ultimate failure of the courts is to act as if there was a remedy to control an out of control executive branch when neither the legislative nor the judicial branches have any enforcement powers that are not completely dependent on that Executive branch it is trying to control.
