We need to add an alert for AI Slop/Misinformation [View all]

This discussion thread was locked by EarlG (a host of the General Discussion forum).

In the past two days, I've seen several videos posted where a known pundit's identity has be co-opted by someone using AI to make absurdly false claims. It's a little scary how real these can look and how much misinformation they can be spreading.

A lot of these are tagged by YouTube as having synthetic content. Despite this, people are still responding to them as if they are real.

I tried to do an alert on one, but none of the categories directly apply.

I think we need to add and AI and/or misinformation alert so that we can get on top of this. There's going to be a flood of AI-driven misinformation as we approach the '26 election. Let's try to keep this site clean of that.
