of all of the nothing that happened the first time they were out of power.

They think they can rig things to maintain power despite unpopularity because that's how things have mostly been for decades and are trending hard further and further in that direction due to Repug actions to advance that trend.

And they think they can weather any hiccup of being out of power for a bit because they weathered it once already.
