By commenting that she was looking at "the list" iirc early in 2025, and then a couple months later by declaring that the investigation was over, Epstein/Maxwell basically acted alone, etc. That later issuance especially started a firestorm of people being interested in the case again.

So it wasn't only Musk. And EVERYONE already knew Trump's name would be all over them, they were good friends, there were dozens of pics of the two of them, etc.

And so far there is nothing that's been released that been particularly damaging to Trump politically (it SHOULD in a normal world, but it hasn't), nor criminally. Which one could've logically presumed would be the case, given the DoJ is led by his sycophants and he's blatantly directing what they do/don't do in this, and many other arenas.

Musk was a player in it yes, but it wasn't all his doing that the files are "released" (kinda sorta).
