7. A lot of those folks are going through a painful learning experience

It looks like a lot of those people are going through a painful learning experience. They were warned by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and other Democrats and people of good will that this would happen and they chose to blow off the warnings. They either chose not to vote or swallowed the swill from Faux Noise, Gnus Spax and other right-wing propaganda sources and voted for Republicans and the scamster at the top of the Republican Party ticket. A few even chose to punish Democrats for not being ethically or ideologically pure enough by voting GOP.

I admit that I have little sympathy for them, especially for the latter group. I hope they’re thinking about their dead and starving friends and relatives in Gaza and elsewhere and thinking about what happened since 01/20/2025. IMO they deserve to feel guilty.

I don’t have much compassion for habitual Republican voters either. The wealthy among them may be doing all right, but they’re a minority of the Republican Party block. As for the rest, they knew they were voting for a crook and a liar, a man who thought of himself first and who was indifferent or even gleeful about the suffering he’s causing.

We warned them. They blew us off. They’re finding out.

The burned hand teaches best. Yeah, it’s callous to say that, but a lot of my illusions were shattered in 2024.
