My guess is that the whole racket was zealously protected by the CIA. The OSS/CIA was corrupt from the start. It was established by east coast blue blood interests through Brown Brothers, Harriman, who employed the Dulles bothers. The OSS quickly moved to align with the mafia during WWII, and the CIA continued this type of arrangement in various assassinations and coups around the world. They routinely undermined and overthrew democratically elected governments and installed right-wing dictators to make the world safe for US imperialism and oligarchic profit.

By the time anyone started to figure out the extent of the Epstein racket it was so deeply entrenched and protected that moving against it could end your career or possibly get you killed.

The world’s oligarchs are surreptitiously colluding and maneuvering to rearrange the global financial system and replace the old order with a kind of global, neofeudal mafia state. It’s the same mindset as kings and barons and plantation owners that’s been around throughout recorded history.

In my opinion, instead of talking in political terms, the left needs to start framing this situation as a fight between good and evil. If we address it in these terms many more people will start listening and adopt the narrative. People want to believe they are part of an epic quest. That’s what Qanon and right-wing chatterboxes give them. But if we redefine the narrative and better identify the situation and the enemy we might get broader support to tear down the Trump insurgency.
