8. We have an insurance crisis here

Aug 2025

Our homeowner's insurance has tripled in the last 3 years - despite us getting a new roof and not being in a flood zone. Then, when homes are damaged in hurricanes, the ins. cos pay them a fraction of what it will take to repair their home.

People cannot afford to insure their homes. Prices have been steadily rising, groceries in particular.

Tourism is down. Many FL communities depend on tourism revenue. A friend has neighbors who are Canadian snowbirds. They've been wintering here for years. They are selling their FL home because of how badly they've been treated since that thing in the White House started with his Canada hate (did I mention we're in MAGA world?).

Our schools are in the toilet; young families are moving out of state because they know the public education system is failing - another "devious" plan by Gov. Meathead and his minions.

When I say Florida is a hellmouth, I am not kidding.
