If his number one goal was to go to heaven, he would think of the parable of the lost sheep, where when he returned to the cold, there was more rejoicing than for the 99 who never went astray.

He would need to seriously change his ways
A good start would be to undue most of his executive orders, tell ICE to stand down, push to put back whatever he could to provide food and other needs for people, and try to fix the problems he created in healthcare. Now, if he did all this, it is likely Vance and his cabinet would stop him with the 25th amendment!

On a person level, he would have to confess to God his sins and resolve to change.

Personally, I doubt he really sees how bad he is and at 78 he is unlikely to turn over a new leaf
