(2,063 posts)Other than voting for Ford (as I was too young, though not by much), you describe exactly how I feel about my frustrations with the Democratic party.
I didn't fully realize Joe Biden's schedule before the debate until he mentioned his traveling beforehand. Holy Cr*p. He flew from the US to France for the D-Day honor celebrations, then was in Italy for the G7 Summit, and after the G7 Summit he flew home to the US, boarded Air Force 1, and flew immediately to LA for the infamous fundraiser that "alarmed" George Clooney so much he had to write that stupid Op-Ed. When George Clooney saw Joe Biden, he had been at the G7 Summit less than 24 hours earlier! Anyone else, including Clooney, would have begged off attending a fundraiser after that crazy schedule. But Joe Biden didn't want to disappoint, so he attended the fundraiser and stood in line for over 3 hours, greeting everyone!
And what does Joe Biden get for working his ass off for the party? A critical Op-Ed by a rich millionaire celebrity who has mansions in 3 different countries, and stabbed in the back from the Democratic leaders, of whom he'd just raised over $30 million at that fundraiser.
I won't vote for a Republican, and will continue to vote for the Democratic party, but I also won't criticize someone for shedding some sunlight on those like Pelosi who behaved so abhorrently towards a man who dedicated his life to their party.
