(9,173 posts)In 2020 we had "Blacks love Biden!" and yet at the same time "Have to have a black female on the ticket so that black people will vote for Biden." We thought that women were going to rise up and reclaim their reproductive freedom, which makes perfect sense to me but didn't pan out. We thought somehow magically the country would embrace a female presidential candidate in an era of bro-bonding. And worst of all the insistence that Biden was fine and healthy and ready to rumble in his 80's, which was total gaslighting. And if you dared question that here, you'd get your ass handed to you by loyalty-crazed DUers who loved Joe like a father.
Now that the party is in near-collapse at the top levels, and there's NO CLEAR LEADERSHIP, we can see the fantasies and falsehoods fall away and we are left to rebuild--HOPEFULLY with realistic people in charge. I for one would like it if the era of millennial-aged Karen-scolds (of all races, not just white women) dictating the agenda for the Democratic Party comes to an end. The bro-worship that's happening now is a direct reaction against them.
