In reply to the discussion: Karine Jean-Pierre leaving the Democratic Party because of how they treated Biden [View all]crimycarny
(2,044 posts)12. Media was hoping for a "scandal"
I guess my feeling was more along the lines of being grateful she isn't jumping on the "Biden was incompetent" train, as that would feed the media frenzy forever. Imagine someone as close to Biden as Karine Jean-Pierre dishing dirt on a "cover-up". And that is what many were speculating, including MAGA. The GOP was chomping at the bit, hoping for this.
Now that she is coming out in support of Biden, the media will ignore her book for the most part. It becomes boring to them. Where's the fun in a Press Secretary supporting the President she worked with?

OP
Trashed Biden? That's not what she did. She trashed the party. I guess you prefer that.

She has a story to tell and she should tell it. And if it makes money, go for it.

So that is what authors do. They all publicize through various means including doing interviews. At any rate,

Good for her. We expect these despicable acts by Republicans, but Democrats were all too happy

American presidential politics is binary--it's either the Republican nominee or the Democratic one.

And I bet EVERY Jill Stein voter KNEW she couldn't win but they could use her to fuck with the Dems

Yes, but the Hillary campaign also made a big mistake that I think hurt her here.

I'm for a consistent message from DNC rather than musical chairs and self-sabotage.

Publicity stunt or not, at least she isn't piling on the "Biden cover up" train

I don't disagree with what she feels and what she says about it, but where the hell else is she going to go?

Seems to me the answer is NOT "when your party's in trouble, head for the hills".

Kinda like after the debate when many Dems were "heading for the hills" and abandoning Biden?

That's what I got from the first post about her leaving. All the people dumping on her was bonkers

I haven't read the book, but if she chooses to become an Independent I feel that's her business.
