Everyone, especially the click-hungry media, will be so shocked that revenge will be foremost on their minds. Trump will exploit this to assume dictatorial powers. It will be blamed on whatever "other" is convenient at the time: "rag heads," migrants, homosexuals, chinese, jews, anything will do. It really doesn't matter because everyone will willingly give up all of their freedoms.

I'll never forget Dan Rather, of all people, getting sucked into it after 9/11. On an appearance on the 9/17 Letterman show (the first after the 24/7 media coverage of 9/11 started to diminish,) Rather pledged to "line up like a good soldier behind President Bush to be used in any way possible to help with the forthcoming war effort." Rather also referred to the need to remove Saddam Hussein from power and the mistake it was not to remove him in the first Gulf War.
