is that many believe AARP started as a lobbying organization for Seniors. A fiesty older woman began speaking of no representation for them back in the 60s or so. Wish I could remember her name. Then AARP was formed supposedly to lobby. However one of the founders was an insurance executive and it quickly began selling the new Medicare plans. So people, like me, wanted a strong group to support Senior issues, when in truth, it does a little of that, but mainly sells health insurance. I think the time has come for a strong group focusing on seniors. Not the hybrid we have.
