Snip...there may be a very good reason for the choice of attire — neither Trump or Wills are Catholic.

Roman Catholicism is steeped in tradition, and this means there are some solid rules for what to wear to a Catholic funeral.The traditional attire for a Catholic funeral is black as it is the colour of mourning, and it is a way to show respect for the recently deceased.

Other religions aren't as stringent on wearing black, despite it more often than not being the done thing.

Trump is nondenominational Christian and Wills is Church of England. Their decision to not wear black might be as a symbol of their lack of Catholicism.
