Tariffs are hidden defacto sales taxes on retail goods. The American consumer pays the tariff hidden in the price of each and every consumer purchase of an import from a country djt declared a tariff imposed.

A 25% tariff on goods from Canada, Mexico, and China plus another 10% on China will cost the average American household $5,000.00 per calendar year.

China does not pay the tariff,.... American consumers do - it comes right out of their disposable income.

There is also a very high chance that American manufactured goods will see a steep increases in the price of goods on the retail shelves. They can up their pricing to just a little lower retail pricing of post tariff imposed on foreign goods.

The poorer and lower middle classes get slammed by this hidden sale tax on durable and nondurable retail goods
