12. Towamencin supervisor resigns from Knights for Life, Montgomery County library board

Republican Towamencin Township Supervisor Laura Smith, who is facing national and international backlash for her now-deleted viral TikTok video mimicking an alleged Nazi salute much like Elon Musk at the Presidential Inauguration, has resigned as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library and as a board member of the Knights for Life nonprofit.

On Saturday morning, the Board of Trustees posted an announcement to Facebook stating it has accepted Smith's resignation, due to her conduct "that does not align with the library's values" ...

Shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, the nonprofit Knights for Life announced Smith has resigned from her position on the board.

"K4L was founded on the ideals of service, of community, of helping those in critical need. Laura Smith has resigned from the board and we remain dedicated to our purpose and reject anything that distracts from our mission," stated the nonprofit on its Facebook page ...
