FAFO: Republican Resigns from Library Board after Imitating Musk's "Nazi" Salute

There is always some ignorant, dense, low-life person with no integrity and no common sense who gets off on cruelty, and we don’t want them forming a group. Or leading a political party. Or leading a country.
Oops.
This takes us to the story of Republican North Penn Supervisor Laura Smith, who has “resigned” from the Board of Trustees of the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library on Saturday morning after mimicking Elon Musk’s “Nazi” salute.
In a Tik Tok video posted on Thursday to the account @laurasmith6036, which has since been removed but was captured here, Smith can be seen hitting her chest three times and giving the palm down arm straight out in front of the camera salute.
Smith, who is also on the Towamencin PA board of supervisors, wasn’t expecting the reception she got, although she admitted to doing it to “stir the pot. Because I can.”
Yes, she can and yes she did. She also went viral doing the Nazi salute. She went viral internationally.

Describe your background and qualifications for a position on the Towamencin board of supervisors
I currently serve as Vice Chairman of the Board of Supervisors with my committee assignments including Public Works, Open Space and Parks, Economic Development, and Emergency Management committees.
I hold a BA in sociology from Hollins University and a Certificate in Advertising and Public Relations from Villanova University. Following a career in account management for a software company while living in South Carolina, I returned home to be my father’s caregiver during his final year. After my father’s passing, I returned to the job market working in the public sector; briefly for the county and ultimately with the PA House of Representatives. For the past 13 years, I have worked as a legislative aide to several area state representatives. What does that mean? It means I am skilled in resolving conflict, finding solutions to problems, navigating the complexity of all branches of government, handling delicate situations (and people) with kid gloves, and planning a multitude of events.
In my “free” time, I serve as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Knights for Life, a non-profit created by North Penn alums dedicated to supporting individuals and families in the North Penn community who are facing a health crisis or profound loss. We host several fundraising events throughout the year to sustain our commitment to our community.
