Not as involved to ever be a delegate, but I've volunteered off & on for Dem presidential candates since Humphrey at 15 yrs old.

My coolest event was after doing volunteer work at WJC's NYC HQ in '92 I was asked election night if I wanted to help decorate the Sheraton Ballroom.
"Sure!", said I. I don't remember but I must have voted earlier in the day (I often vote in the evening).

The hotel is orientated east to west on an Avenue block as I now think about. Pertinent to the experience- the Grand Ballroom can be divided in 3 rooms. Maybe they also did a 2 room wide space, and a 1 room configuration.

I just realized revisualizing the event right now (and I actually went home, and drew it up with text); that, that grand ballroom totally opened; was actually, like, 2 NYC street city blocks long! 😄 :surprisedhappy: emoji. On some level I never totally, consciously got that. I was describing the event to a fellow Dem today.

😄No wonder, everyone looked "tiny" way in the front on, or by the stage, when I went to the back ?quarter my, or back fifth of it where the chairs were to sit for a bit!

So we put up signs, bunting, and probably R, W & B crepepaper streamers. There was a big screen on the stage for projecting a TV image.

There were also 6, or 8 TV's set up on stands (think of those of us old enough like in grade school for the NASA astro rocket launches). We tied R, W, & B helium balloons on to them. Another realization...
[Wow.....s-l-o-w 😁] with the big crowd of people; this would help people find the TV's more easily.

So in front of the stage was a big open space. Then there were a set of bleachers for the videographers, and photographers.
To the left were a long set of tables for reporters. Then the rest was a big, open space were the TV's were spaced, till the very back where chairs, and tables were.

It was a grand, and exciting experience! 😄🎉
