Sad story out of Wisconsin... [View all]

I've heard of elderly guys doing this in other states too, robbing a bank so they can live the rest of their lives in jail rather than homeless.

Complaint: Suspect robbed bank because he’d ‘rather be in jail than be homeless’

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - A man suspected of robbing a bank told police he’d recently lost his job and “would rather be in jail than be homeless,” according to a criminal complaint.

Martin Schiedermayer, 63 of Appleton, is accused of robbing a Wells Fargo bank in Appleton on Tuesday morning.
