Working for a small nonprofit, you have to occasionally take contracts to a local government board for approval. It is amazing how even after winning the election, MAGA right wingers religiously attend these small board meetings to bash programs designed to help immigrants, expand voter education, or promote DEI.

Progressives have given up and instead hide out in bubbles like this board and scape goat the media, the establishment, etc., while MAGA types do not just stay in their right wing bubble, but are quite willing to spread their views outside of their bubble.

The 2024 election was still close notwithstanding the fact that Trump won, but if you based who won on who tends to show up at local government meetings, you would think that 90 percent of people believe in MAGA.

Again, go to a school board or local government meeting and there is a good chance you will see a small number of MAGA types who will happily use any item referencing help to immigrants, DEI or voting as an invitation to push right wing talking points. While they are wrong, they unfortunately are not content to keep their ignorance to themselves are very aggressive about spreading their racist views at the grassroots local level.
