can make large, tax deductible contributions to local charities. This keeps at least some of California's money from DC.
I just saw that Hollywood is pausing some film and TV shows right now. Many businesses will have less production and large rebuilding costs this year. Less profits equals lower taxes.
I know the tragedy outweighs this, but maybe DC will notice that less money is rolling in from LA.

Other than some excise taxes, the tax money sent to the Federal government comes from individual taxpayers not the state
