Now, of course, we would be naive to think that an additional $50 billion is all the Trump administration is going to ask for. If you're a history nerd, you know that this is eerily similar to what happened
24 years ago. The Bush administration started a war saying, "Hey, this is going to be easy. We're only going into
the Middle East for four weeks, and it's only going to cost $50 billion." And how much did that war with Iraq actually
cost? $756 billion.
And that doesn't even account for the long-term costs associated with war, like caring for our service members and our veterans when they come home. That brings the total cost to at least $2 trillion...."
