1. There was no intent to negotiate

I think it will all unfolded like this:
Isreal wanted Gaza so it used the kidnapped Israelis excuse to attack the Gaza Strip, and keeps on even after prisoners are released just to get rid of the Palestinians;
Trump said that he wanted the Gaza strip for his ongoing grift (hotels, casinos, etc.);
Palestinians are still giving Israel grief, so Trump will help move the Palestinians in Gaza, one way or another, so that he can move in there also;
Israel is helping the US to destroy Iran for our help in moving Palestinians out of Netanyahu's way;
In return, Netanyahu is attacking Iran to help Trump in their mutual WAR on Iran, and to take out Iranian political power;
In the end, Netanyahu removes Iran as an opponent, and Trump gets whatever part of Gaza that he wants, and lets that Palestinians keep a little for themselves. Not sure what they have in mind for Iran, other than just weakening them and taking their oil. I don't think that the Iranian people will tolerate either country in control of their state for long.
Just an aside, Kushner is negotiating with every other country as Trump's business manager and for his personal benefit, not as a representative of the US.
I may be all wrong, but that's the way it looks to me. Wouldn't be the first time.
