This ruling was in response to a request for a stay pending appeal, it is not a final ruling on the merits of the case.

Regardless, it effectively puts the new Texas maps in place for 2026, as SCOTUS won’t likely rule on the appeal until after the midterms.

It’s also ironic, as gerrymandering won’t prevent the republicans from losing the house next year.
