2. COVID has forever changed the business model for studios and movie theater chains.

Even when COVID is behind us, I think more consumers will want their movie experience to be in their homes. Wasn't it already trending that way before COVID?

Picture and sound systems are economical now. I just don't buy the big PR push by Hollywood to have to see big spectacles in theater surroundings with fully immersive and multi-sensory delights. Me personally? I just don't like being around others who ruin the experience with bad manners. And don't get me started on the exorbitant concession costs.

If I want a night out, I can think of others diversions than going to a movie theater. Still love movies though!
