I can't make heads nor tails out of what point that poster was even trying to make.

A lot of snark and attempts to do *whatever* that was attempting to do just go over my head. (It's especially funny when I sense somebody is trying to p0wn me but I am too literal to understand how or what or why.)

I can't even keep the players straight. The only ones I remember are the ones who seem to do nothing but snark and attack. And I am not talking about disagreement, I am talking about the over the top nasty personal attacks. I can be sarcastic and disagree, but I try to make it a disagreement about the opinion, and not "You're an asshole slimebag neener neener."

I can't comprehend why people waste the time to go back and forth 10 times in a subthread just being mean. What is the purpose of that? (I miss DU2 because the mods disappeared that bullshit and here it just continues ad fucking nauseum. The "disappear subthread" was a huge feature on DU2. DU3 has utterly failed to create a space that is safe and somewhat welcoming, a refuge from the banal childish bullshit you find everywhere else on the web.)

Generally I state my two cents of support or disagreement, and get the hell out of Dodge. I don't revisit most threads after I comment in them, and I don't check the My Posts thingy to see if anybody replied. I just don't care.

Internet cagefights are not my idea of fun.

But even I see that HoF regulars get "called out" on stuff that is par for the course, A-OK everywhere else on DU. I can pretty easily ignore assholes because my emotional investment in DU is pretty minimal. Some anonymous jackass types words. Oh well. I have been doing the internet forum thing way too long to get too wrapped up in the cult of personality anymore.
