Loners

It was long to be sure, no way around that. (A friend suggested stopping in New York overnight and breaking up the trip but that had no appeal for me) We flew on Virgin and when booking it I told my daughter I wanted a direct flight, so we saved about 4 hours that way. The thought of that long trip was one of the things that made me avoid going all these years.

Things are better than the last time I went a long distance like this. Now each seat back has a video screen and a whole library of movies, both recent and older, tv shows, games, music etc. So that helped to eat up a lot of time. And it seemed like there were endless food breaks--snacks, dinner, snacks, dessert, breakfast snacks, etc etc. A lot of diversion. I felt like a kindergartner that the teachers were trying to keep occupied, lol.

I've never been able to sleep much if at all on planes, so that didn't help. But in the end it was totally worth it. If you ever get the chance, go for it!! I may have to go back again before too long!
