Loners

We usually go to our next door neighbors house for a barbeque. It's normally low key, just their family, us an maybe one other neighbor couple. But even though I like all of these people, sitting there for several hours trying to make small talk is not my idea of fun. Once the fireworks start I always made the excuse to come home and sit with the dog that would go nuts. (Sadly that pupper had to be put to sleep in May when his cancer got the better of him.) But I got a text yesterday saying that they had too many things going on this year to have the bbq, so we are off the hook. YAY! Will just be home listening to the war zone outside. Thankfully our remaining dog is not affected by the noise, so that's another stress I won't have.

I so feel bad for all of the dogs being terrorized and running loose this weekend. I'm seeing so many on facebook being found or lost by locals. They have to be so scared, it breaks my heart.
