Request for my mother & father. [View all]

Prayer holds little meaning for me outside of a contemplative meditation. For my parents who do both consider themselves to be Christians, it is a powerful force in their lives.

I shared with them that I had made a post in the Interfaith forums here at DU and that many had offered prayers, thoughts, and very kind words. That touched them deeply.

My father is still in very critical condition in the ICU. He is stable, however, the bleeding has started again in the ulcer. The first clamping did not stop it. They will try it again. If it does not, then he will need to undergo a more intensive surgical procedure. At his age and with his other health issues, this becomes a difficult proposition.

It would mean a great deal to them knowing that other believers of all types of religions were holding them in their thoughts and offering healing prayers during this difficult time. Therefore it would mean a great deal to me if those here that I respect who do more closely share their belief system would offer up prayers on their behalf. I will share with them that they are a now a part of a prayer circle here as well as at their own local church.

Thank you everyone.
