Because it is "low grade", many on the left ignore it, at best. What is really galling is that this decision wasn't based on the actions of Hillel of Rice!

What's next? Cutting ties with Israel's thriving LGBT community because... Israel?

Several "progressive" groups have done just that over the past several years, claiming "support" for Arabs/Muslims/Palestinians, but ignoring other groups with similar troubling records, not just on Arabs/Muslims/Palestinians issues, but actually LGBT issues! Several "progressive" spaces are now, no longer safe/comfortable/accepting for Jews unless we pass the smell test (du jour).
